Cynthia Eggl offers journal of her breast cancer battle New book recalls the ups and downs, the people and the support Eggl received battling for her life FARGO, N.D. – The new memoir “Boundless Blessings and God's Grace: My Journey through Breast Cancer” (published by WestBow Press) is author and cancer survivor Cynthia J. Eggl’s chronicle of her victory over breast cancer.
At age 53 Eggl was diagnosed with stage two breast cancer. The people she encountered on her breast cancer journey changed her perspective on life, but the common thread was fear when hearing the word “cancer.” Often Eggl was a reluctant participant, knowing she had no choice if she intended to win her battle, so she encouraged others with her smile, positive attitude, words and actions. She then chose to publish her detailed journal, sharing it with others so they know if faced with a similar circumstance, they too can be victorious in their battle.
An excerpt from “Boundless Blessings and God's Grace”:
“This journey has reminded me to never take anything for granted, to be grateful for every day I am on the face of the Earth, and to make the most of each day. Within each of us are a fighting spirit and, hopefully, a recognition that we are not in total control of our lives. God is, and he will determine when, where, and how we will pass from this world. Until then, we need to accept the difficulties that we encounter in our lives with dignity, grace, determination, and knowing that he is constantly by our side.”
“I was encouraged by many people to publish my journal because it was written from a cancer patient’s perspective,” said Eggl. “Having endured through surgery, chemotherapy and radiation treatments, and the start of the recovery process, I’m hopeful that information contained in the book may be helpful to others going through a cancer battle, and may help answer questions that many people are uncomfortable asking a cancer patient or their family and friends.”
