THE PLOT THICKENS...DONALD STERLING TO SUE THE NBA

As first reported by NBC News, Donald Sterling will file a lawsuit against the NBA for forcing a sale of the Clippers, and he'll reportedly seek more than $1 billion in damages. ESPN's Ramona Shelburne adds that Sterling is still deciding whether to sue Shelly Sterling too. And here comes Woj, saying Sterling could file a separate suit to stop the sale of the team.

THE MOST HARDCORE SPELLING BEE PERFORMANCE EVER

Talk about guts, passion, and determination. This kid just fainted in front of millions of people on live TV and just got right back up and spelt his word correctly like nothing even happened. Not sure we’ve ever seen anything so heroic in the spelling bee game before.

John Paul Jones, Page and Robert Plant each commented on the companion audio version of "Whole Lotta Love."

Jones said: "'Whole Lotta Love' must have been very early on its life, so it probably hadn't developed into the juggernaut that it became in later years. But it's fresher, I think."

Page commented: "This version of 'Whole Lotta Love' is the mix down from the night that we recorded it, so it doesn't have any of the overdubs that everyone will be familiar with, because when they hear this they'll think, 'Oh yeah, that's the original' and all of a sudden they'll go 'No, it's not.'"

Plant added: "You can see how songs grow. There must have been five or six other takes of that, which are not present. So the shaping of these things is very interesting and you can hear with this particular version that we haven't quite reached the point yet, and that it's very, very close."

Our SELFIE OBSESSION has now spread to the animal kingdom.  23-year-old Scott Brierley was driving through a safari park in Worcestershire, England recently, and accidentally dropped his cell phone out of the car while he was trying to take a selfie with some elephants. Park officials told him to stay inside the car, but they were eventually able to get the phone back and return it to Scott.  And when he went through his photos later on, he found one of the ELEPHANTS had taken a SELFIE on it.  Seriously.  It makes sense . . . Scott was taking photos when he dropped it, the camera app was probably still open, and an ELEPHANT touched the screen with its trunk.  Apparently it wandered over thinking the phone might be food.

GOOGLE'S NEW SELF-DRIVING CAR LOOKS LIKE IT'S GOING TO COMPLETELY SUCK

First came Google Glass – which is definitely an invention that has been received positively by everyone in the world (not) – and now Google have revealed that they’ve actually managed to develop a self driving car, which was something I never dreamed would even be possible whilst I was still alive when I was watching The Jetsons in my diapers.

PEOPLE ARE GETTING PYTHON MASSAGES IN THE PHILIPPINES...YES, YOU JUST READ THAT.

Have we started trusting snakes now? Is this some kind of hipster massage move? Can’t imagine how a snake or any other animal could be better than a human at giving a massage. I think humans have pretty much perfected the art of the massage and they’re not about to be shown up by some giant Burmese python who quietly wants to squeeze you to death.

Guns N’ Roses Frontman Axl Rose Heads Up ‘Greatest Singers’ Chart

It’s fun to debate with your friends the merits of some of music’s biggest artists, but a new chart from ConcertHotels.com attempts to quantify what makes a great singer, and they rank Guns N’ Roses frontman Axl Rose at the top of their list.

The list is primarily focused on the singer’s vocal range, and Rose, with his five-octave pipes, heads up the list. The chart lists Rose as going from an F1 on ‘There Was a Time’ all the way to B flat 6 he hit on ‘Ain’t It Fun,’ putting him right at the top with such pop stars as Mariah Carey and Prince. But while Rose had the largest vocal range, he fell short of Carey, Prince and Christina Aguilera for hitting a high note on a song.

DIVER FIGHTS OFF SHARK IN SUPER INTENSE ENCOUNTER

WHERE DO NHL PLAYERS COME FROM?

Sportchart has put together a neat series of maps on the birthplaces of active NHL, NBA, and MLB players. For most graphics like these the players are divvied up by country of origin, but—as you can see from the NHL dots above—this misses a lot of the nuance in the data. Specifically, U.S. players aren't evenly distributed across the U.S., while Canadian players—keeping in mind that most of Canada is barren tundra—look like they're fairly spread throughout the population.

Germs and bacteria are virtually invisible—and, most of the time, just a finger's length away. And sometimes, your fingers' attempts to soothe one problem only opens the door to more. Here are five objects that you should think twice before touching: 1. The Gas Pump Handle.  A 2011 study from Kimberly-Clark found that 71 percent of pump handles are highly contaminated, meaning they’re more likely to cause infection. We know: It’s pretty much impossible not to touch them. But what you can do is grab one of those paper towels from the dispenser next to the pump and use it to hold the handle. And, of course, make sure you wash your hands thoroughly after filling up.2. Your Nose.  Picking too frequently—or too enthusiastically—could lead to cuts, irritations, and even infections, says Marc Glashofer, M.D., of the American Academy of Dermatology. It’s also common to tear your “nasal septum,” that piece that separates your nostrils, if you dig for gold for 30 minutes or more a day, according to a study from Wisconsin’s Dean Foundation.3. Your Eyes. Do you rub your peepers when you’re tired or when your contacts become blurry? Don’t! “Keep your fingers out of your eyes as much as possible during the cold and flu season, as viruses are easily spread by you touching a contaminated surface and then touching your face,” says Charles Gerba, Ph.D., Professor of Microbiology at the University of Arizona. Reduce your risk with steady doses of hand sanitizer. 4. The Hotel Room Remote Control. Surf channels in the hotel, and you could just as easily pick up fecal matter. A 2012 study from the University of Houston found E. Coli hanging out on a whopping 81 percent of the surfaces in hotel rooms, including the telephone, the bedside lamp, and the remote control. Gross. We know you want to watch TV on your business trip—just make sure you clean the clicker with a disinfecting wipe first.5. The Break-Room Sink Faucet. Going to the office kitchen to wash your hands might not be the best idea: 75 percent of break-room sink handles have high levels of contamination, according to a 2012 study by Kimberly-Clark. In addition, your coworkers can spread contamination throughout the office when they heat up lunch, make coffee, or simply type on their keyboards. Men's Health Magazine .
