Kim Kardashian for president? The KKW mogul is clearly celebrating her successful pitch to free nonviolent drug offender Alice Marie Johnson, and she told CNN that she won’t rule out a run for the White House.
“Never say never,” she told CNN’s Van Jones on The Van Jones Show Saturday.
The reality star met with President Donald Trump after several months of talks with Ivanka Trump and Jared Kushner, and a week later, the 63-year-old Johnson was freed.
She said that it was Trump’s successful run that really opened the possibility for her or her husband Kanye West, who has gotten serious blowback for his support of Trump.
“I know that’s why Kanye loves him. It’s the idea that anything could happen,” she said.
But don’t start printing up bumper stickers. Kim said: [“Never say never. But that’s not like oh, ‘Kim’s running.’ That’s not what I’m going for. I just want to help, starting with one person at a time. I think sometimes if more people would just put their personal feelings aside and talk about really important issues that have to be discussed, then so much more can get done.” (0:21 OC: “get done.”)]
- On June 6th, Johnson was released from federal prison in Aliceville, Alabama, where she served more than 20 years of what was a life sentence.
- In her CNN interview, Kardashian also addressed criticism that she is supporting Trump.
- “I was working on this before. I don’t think I would be used. At the end of the day, he heard me out. We got the job done. What could he really use me for?” she told Jones.
